Sunday... thought I would write about Sunday as it was a day that actually had some pretty amazing ingredients included in it. Hospitals always hold a number of dynamics before you even get there..... so Sunday I was into the MRI machine for a scan. Its a strange one for me as Ive always gone into hospital alone - its a time where I look at my life, face my own mortality and connect deeply. My approach to life is I accept a little different... and today was a great example of I guess my own way of dealing with my scan.
Firstly.. I actually visited someone who I had never met before who was in hospital and gone / going through a really rough time - sat and talked, held her hand, shared some laughter, stories, time, then off I went to find my MRI team. Its started with with lots of laughter and the guy that was taking me through the process was an alt, looking at all my metal shakes head, says we are going to be here a while then proceeding to go through a number of metal options that have to be removed, basically all! Its a little daunting.. going into a room with a huge machine, being strapped down so you are totaly ristriced, but the team who looked after me were awesome..Its quick, its non invasive, and the guys were fantastic! They put headphones on before you go into the tunnel.. now.. last time I had a scan, they put Kings of Leon on for me and fed it through so its was rather a jazzy experience, this time not an ipod in sight! so I got them to sing to me - not quite Kings of Leon but... made us all laugh. HUMAN BEING...elements of life.. whatever the situation...a short connection of minutes, hours.. can hold that amazing gift of connecting and bringing, sharing laughter, embracing that connection. Thanks to the team for looking after me LOVE KINDNESS LAUGHTER EMPATHY CONNECT.
